Helping People by Improving Memory in Their Daily Life

Improving Sports Performance

Athletes thrive on their ability to make split-second decisions. Working memory, which is crucial for performing under stress, is a tremendous asset on the sports field. Defined, working memory is a key cognitive function used in daily life that allows individuals to hold new information in mind- "online" -for brief periods of time. This, balanced wiha ccessing learned information (training, skills, plays), is a basis of sports performance.

How It Works:

Initial workshop presented by Cogmed Qualified Coach.

*start- up survey to establish baseline for training

*25 training sessions lasting 20 minutes each, completed         within six weeks (training occurs in-home, or even while         traveling)

*weekly calls with a Cogmed Coach to discuss progress         (coach and athlete both have access to daily performance         results online)

*two month follow-up interview to assess results

Each athlete has access to a Cogmed Coach who leads the training, tracks results and provides support. The Cogmed Training Web gives professionals online access to their own training results and progress status.
