Helping People by Improving Memory in Their Daily Life
Working Memory Improves Intelligence
Working Memory Training Increases Your Intellectual Ability
Recent research (April 2008) published by the National Academy of Science shows that:
- "Fluid Reasoning" is the ability to reason and solve new problems independently of previously acquired knowledge.
- Fluid reasoning is one of the most important factors in learning.
- Fluid reasoning is closely related to professional and educational success, especially in complex and demanding environments.
Increasing Your Intellectual Ability
- Previously, no training has been shown to improve fluid reasoning as assessed by intelligence tests, aside from directly "teaching the test" (and this training does not transfer to real life functioning.)
- Research now indicates that training on a demanding working memory task is shown to improve individuals' fluid reasoning.
- The extent of gain in intelligence depends on the amount of training - the more the training, the more the improvement.
Research just released from Cogmed*
- Cogmed training improves working memory in normal young adults (ages 20-30)
- Cogmed training improves working memory in normal senior adults (ages 60-70)
- The younger adults improve more from the training than the older adults.

Implications of the Research
- Working memory training is the only intervention that has been shown to improve general intellectual functioning.
- We have a proven method for improving working memory for students and adults.
- We can assist students in developing skills that will help them:
- Learn Better
- Improve their complex problem-solving skills
- Perform better on tests (in-class, nationally standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, GRE)
- As a result, we are conducting some initial research with students preparing for the ACT and SAT. If you are interested (a discount for the training is provided), please contact us.
